ROCKWOOL is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the North American Hub of our global engineering organization. This position is on site at our state of the art facility in Ranson WV, with extensive overseas travel required.

Your Future Team
You will be part of the North American Hub of our corporate engineering organization and work in close cooperation with colleagues in our offices in Denmark.
You’ll work with state-of-the-art Melting plants in our ROCKWOOL factories throughout the world and provide technical solutions, from upgrades and repairs to complete melting plants in new-build factories. What You Will Be Doing
As a Mechanical Engineer at ROCKWOOL, you'll be at the forefront of sustainable melting technologies. You will oversee the project from concept and study phase to detailed specification, design, inspection & testing, site supervision, commissioning, and after-service support.
- Design cutting-edge melting furnaces powered by sustainable green energy and auxiliary systems
- Ensure the creation of energy-efficient systems that comply with European and American industry standards
- Manage tender packages and conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), taking a hands on approach
- Supervise on-site installation and commissioning of melting equipment
- Travel extensively to and from Europe for long periods of time doing commissioning of current manufacturing systems while learning ROCKWOOL processes
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- A solid background in mechanical design of heavy industrial equipment
- Proficient in mechanical design and 3D modeling, with experience in Inventor or similar CAD software
- Knowledgeable in welding techniques, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), inspection methods, and material science
- Experienced in conducting FAT tests and overseeing/supervising site installations
- Team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken
