Skyryse is developing FlightOS, the world's first universal flight deck and operating system. MECHANICAL ENGINEER - ON SITE - EL SEGUNDO, CA

As a Mechanical Engineer at Skyryse, you will design and produce hardware solutions for our rapidly expanding portfolio of fixed wing and rotorcraft platforms.  The role involves collaboration with test pilots, flight control engineers, software engineers and airframe specific experts to determine design criteria and build solutions quickly and effectively. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design test fixtures for use in new product qualification and engineer cockpit structures and fixtures that comply with FAA certification standards
• Design of electronic enclosures and cable assemblies, including solid modeling, detail drawings, thermal power dissipation analysis, design for bonding, EMI/EMC, harsh environments, etc.
• Use hand calculations, FEA, and CAD to ensure all hardware meets or exceeds external and customer needs
• Author Technical Analysis reports and support related discussions with customers
• Support cross-functional teams regarding prototype builds, testing, root cause analysis
• Perform DFM (design for manufacturability) on your designs and work with manufacturing partners to ensure manufacturing QC
• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 3+ years of professional working experience
• Experience in human centered design principles or human factors
• Familiarity with GD&T Principles

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with HMI related projects - automotive and/or aerospace a plus. 
• 7+ years of professional working experience
• Experience with CAD and FEA software packages (can be in a professional, academic, entrepreneurial, or hobby setting).
• Hands-on hardware experience performing fabrication, assembly and/or testing (can be in a professional, academic, entrepreneurial, or hobby setting).
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles
