We are expanding rapidly and are looking for a Sales Engineer who can help design and sell complex warehouse systems.

Position Overview

The Sales Engineer works closely with the sales team and clients to design technical solutions for warehouse and distribution operations. This role bridges the gap between engineering and sales by developing system concepts, preparing technical proposals, and supporting the sales process for racking, conveyors, and automation systems.

The ideal candidate understands material handling systems, warehouse layouts, and technical solution selling.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design

  • Develop warehouse layouts including pallet racking, conveyors, pick modules, and automation concepts
  • Analyze facility drawings and customer requirements to develop system proposals
  • Assist in calculating storage capacity, throughput, and operational efficiency

Sales Support

  • Work alongside the sales team during the proposal and pre-sales phase
  • Prepare technical drawings, system descriptions, and engineering concepts
  • Support customer meetings and technical presentations

Proposal Development

  • Help prepare technical sections of proposals and quotations
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and vendors for pricing and specifications
  • Assist with cost modeling and budgetary system estimates

Client Consultation

  • Review customer operational requirements and recommend solutions
  • Provide insights on warehouse optimization, automation opportunities, and system upgrades

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work with engineering, project management, and operations teams to ensure designs can be executed effectively
  • Assist with project handoff to project engineers and project managers after contract award

Qualifications

Experience

  • 3–7 years experience in material handling, warehouse design, or technical sales
  • Experience with conveyors, pallet racking systems, or warehouse automation preferred

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar layout software
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and material handling equipment
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings

Business Skills

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical systems into clear client solutions
  • Comfortable supporting high-value sales opportunities ($500K – $10M+)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
