- Apply mechanical engineering principles and techniques to design, develop, document, verify, and support sustainment of communications products
- Creation and modification of mechanical design artifacts (models, drawings)
- Support prototype build and verification and pre-qualification testing
- Work closely with a multidiscipline team to ensure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product's lifecycle, including supporting integration, testing and qualification of the final product.
- Take the steps to become a subject matter expert in the domain area electronics packaging

- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD). Includes working knowledge of model creation, interrogation with a CAD tool (examples may include NX and/or Solidworks).
- Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with machined and sheet metal manufacturing methodologies
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 and/or DO-160 environmental requirements
- Familiarity of electronic product packaging requirements
- Experience with Agile development methodologies, including planning, tracking, and managing hardware
