Mechanical Engineering Manager I - Process and Tools
What You'll Do:

• Provide leadership, vision and guidance of Mechanical Engineering Processes and Tools.
• Manage Mechanical Process and Tools team including hiring, training, career development and providing a rewarding work environment.
• Develop, plan, deploy, monitor and optimize systems that enable mechanical product design through the full product lifecycle (proposal to delivery).
• Identify, execute and track impact of initiatives to continuously improve program execution.
• Elevate design and analysis work product quality.
• Strategic:
  • Develop and execute Mechanical Engineering tool and Knowledge Transfer strategy
  • Shape and support our digital transformation
  • Continually evaluate the marketplace to ensure Mechanical Engineering staff has tools that optimize productivity and enable innovation
  • Collaborate with internal IT group to ensure infrastructure is optimized and upgraded as required
  • Manage Augmented/Virtual Reality efforts to develop and deliver impactful solutions
• Tactical:
  • Coordinate COTS and in-house tool selection, licensing, deployment, utilization tracking, improvement, maintenance and training
  • Manage all standard mechanical engineering processes including development, deployment, revision, review, streamlining and enforcement
  • Coordinate technical support for tool users
  • Collaborate with tool vendors to resolve issues
  • Develop and manage budget
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

What You'll Need:

• BS/BA in related field plus 10 years or more related experience.
• Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Understanding of:
  • Mechanical Engineering Tools and related data systems
  • Engineering documentation and related Standards commonly used to support DoD, NASA and commercial aerospace customers
  • Product Lifecycle Management Systems
  • Model Based Engineering
• Knowledge of Information Technology systems.
• Ability to collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Materials and Mission Assurance organizations.
• Demonstrated commitment to the development of others.

Flexible On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three or more days per work week. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

• May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
• May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position, however applicant must be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access. Compensation & Benefits:

• HIRING SALARY RANGE: $136,000 - $187,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
