Media Director
Job Description
As a Media Director you drive the strategic use of media to impact a client’s business performance. In this role you’ll be responsible for developing a strategic vision and guiding your team through the execution and management of that plan. You’re responsible for audience insights, campaign vision/strategy, client relationships, cross discipline integration, and performance. With a team of experts and generalists under you, you’ll be leading a holistic approach across digital (social, display, video, audio, search) and traditional (TV, radio, OOH, print) channels.
You will:
Define, oversee, and lead media strategy for a group of clients.
Build strong client relationships while up-selling and cross-selling to organically grow business.
Identify high impact opportunities for developing breakthrough customer insights in partnership with strategy.
Understand and stay on top of current and global media industry issues, trends, and opportunities to advise clients and develop thought leadership pieces.
Proactively determine where and how consumer insights can make paid media campaigns successful.
Partner with insight, creative, and marketing science teams to identify customer insights from data and translate that into relevant media & messaging.
Work with discipline leads to identify opportunities to lead social, search, or syndication strategy that influences creative production.
Help shape media plans by recommending appropriate media channels to use in effective time spans.
Evaluate, build, and maintain relationships in the local and national online marketing, media, and social community.
Participate in new project development and new business efforts as required by the agency.
Be a true partner to you clients and develop a strong working relationship
Understand and drive media’s impact on client’s business strategy
You have:
9+ years experience in the digital media space
4+ years management experience
Extensive understanding of digital media and the digital landscape that can be used to lead and mentor a team.
Thorough knowledge of standard and rich media ad trafficking software for display, video, mobile and other emerging channels.
Energy and passion for paid media.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines while paying attention to details.
Ability to work effectively across multi-functional groups or geographic offices.
Good project management, planning and organizational skills.
Able to take ownership and accountability over a client’s line of business
Can identify trends and pivot to make changes against potential market factors
Flexible and able to quickly adapt to new situations.
