VP of Engineering

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on VP of Engineering who can help us deliver software faster & faster. You will be helping our company with CI/CD, Infrastructure as a Code, and Cloud migration. MediMatrix is the leading software provider in the mobile radiology industry, a rapidly growing and evolving market. As part of the MediMatrix engineering team, you will be instrumental in ensuring on-time product delivery and helping MediMatrix scale to a new stage of growth. You will get an opportunity to learn a leading healthcare software product and deploy a diverse set of growth strategies. The ideal candidate should have direct hands-on experience in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, scripting, containerization, serverless, APM, and a modern web framework. This position reports directly to MediMatrix’s CTO.

• Design, implement, review, and maintain AWS cloud architecture.
• Establish tools, processes, and best practices to improve software delivery.
• Implement and maintain security standards like HIPAA using AWS Cloud configuration.
• Use modern database technologies as we migrate to AWS managed service.
• Work with the CTO and Development team to plan, design, and implement solutions.
• Act as a liaison between the Development team and Operations team to build, test, and deploy software.
• Scope, design, and deploy systems that reduce Mean Time to Resolve customer incidents, including installation of diagnostic systems or database tools.
• Automate routine monitoring and troubleshooting tasks.
• Diagnose live incidents, differentiate between platform issues versus usage issues, and take the next steps toward resolution.
• Manage remediation process during outages.
• Be an effective teacher/coach to our Development and Operations teams.

• You have good knowledge of:
  • AWS ALB, Codebuild, Codepipeline, GuardDuty, S3, Cloudwatch, RDS, VPC, Cloud Config.
  • CI tools such as Jenkins, Team City, or Circle CI.
  • Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes, Cloudflare WAF or AWS WAF.
  • Monitoring and APM Tools such as Datadog, NewRelic, Sumologic or similar.
• You have a good understanding of AWS security principles.
• You have a good understanding of site to site VPN.
• You can maintain, repair, and optimize AWS infrastructure.
• You have implemented and maintained HIPAA compliance.
• You have supported production 24/7 with 99.999% uptime.
• You can write functions, scripts to automate things.
• You have a minimum bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields.
