We are seeking an ace corporate event planner to partner with key stakeholders to implement and deliver successful internal and external corporate meetings on their behalf.
As the Meeting & Events Director you will be responsible for managing all aspects of a successful meeting, not limited to curating attendee, communications, logistics and sourcing while working with cross functional planning teams to provide updates, timelines and deliverables throughout the entire meeting planning process.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Procurement, Meetings & Events and Global Travel you will be a key member of the team and the organization.
What you’ll do as a the Meeting & Events Director:
- Lead, plan and execute internal and external meetings globally with an overall plan and strategy to deliver highly successful events
- Plan and execute a highly successful annual Sales-Kick-off and President’s Club Incentive trip
- Develop RFPs and RFIs along with evaluation criteria for venue selection
- Manage hotel and or venue negotiations and contracts to secure the best possible terms and cost savings to stay in-line with budget
- Manage the organization’s calendar of events in order to conduct strategic sourcing and cost savings
- Provide superior customer service during the planning process and on-site at the time of the event
- Serve as the company Administrator “gatekeeper” of Cvent, the company’s meeting management tool
- Demonstrate success producing high-quality deliverables on time and within budget in a fast paced, high growth environment
- Serve as the key expert advisor to the Senior Director of Procurement, Meetings & Events and Global Travel as well as to key stakeholders
- Utilize your Excel proficiency with the ability to present the data to tell a story
- Ability to travel domestically and globally when required
- Manage on-line travel booking tool relating to meeting invites and flight analysis
- Procure other goods and services relating to marketing; ie: swag, sponsorships, 3rd party vendors
What you’ll bring as the Meeting & Events Director:
- Bachelor's Degree or related experience
- 8 + years of meeting and event planning experience required
- CMP Certification preferredÂ
- Strong communication skills, strategic planning and analytical and financial strengths
- Highly proficient with Cvent Meeting Management Platform
- Experience in planning & executing Sales Kick-off and annual Incentive trip
- Proficient in data analysis
- Experience in strategic sourcing with a proven track record of contract negotiations and documented savings
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to flex in a fast paced environment
- Related vendor management experience
This position is full-time and hybrid in our Somerville, MA headquarters.
