This role sits at the intersection of product engineering and AI systems development, focused on building next-generation AI-native applications that operate across multimodal data such as text, audio, and video. You will take full ownership of features and systems, translating ambiguous product ideas into scalable, production-ready solutions used directly by end users. The position requires a strong ability to work across backend systems, APIs, data pipelines, and occasionally frontend interfaces to deliver complete product experiences. You will collaborate closely with researchers, designers, and product teams in a fast-paced, highly iterative environment where speed and quality both matter. This is a highly autonomous role where engineers are expected to define problems, shape solutions, and iterate rapidly based on real-world feedback. It is ideal for builders who thrive in ambiguity and want to work at the frontier of AI-driven product development.

• Own and deliver end-to-end product features, from problem definition and system design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Design and build scalable backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines supporting AI-driven and multimodal product workflows.
• Contribute across the stack when needed, including backend, frontend, infrastructure, and experimentation systems.
• Collaborate closely with researchers, designers, and product teams to turn ambiguous ideas into production-ready systems.
• Develop and maintain reliable, high-performance systems that support model-driven and AI-native applications.
• Define technical scope, milestones, and execution plans for complex product initiatives.
• Use AI tools to accelerate development workflows while ensuring correctness through testing, validation, and observability.
• Build and optimize systems that leverage AI capabilities such as agents, retrieval, and multimodal reasoning.
• Continuously iterate on product features based on performance data, user feedback, and system insights.
• Maintain a high standard of reliability, simplicity, and scalability across all engineered solutions.

Requirements:

• Experience building and shipping production-grade software systems, either backend or full-stack.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and system reliability principles.
• Proven ability to own projects end-to-end in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Comfort working across multiple domains including engineering, product, data, and user experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, outcome-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience using modern development workflows and AI tools to improve engineering productivity.
• Ability to design and reason about complex systems involving data, scalability, and performance tradeoffs.
• Nice to have: experience with video, audio, or multimodal systems including search, retrieval, or streaming architectures.
• Familiarity with embeddings, semantic search, or multimodal AI systems is a plus.
