We are a global leader in the practice of structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering and related specialty services for the built environment. Our work is embedded in the residences we live in, the healthcare facilities we rely on for routine medical procedures to life-saving feats of medicine, the skyscrapers and buildings we work in, and the operations of our buildings.

WSP is currently initiating a search for an MEP Engineering Intern for our Kansas City, MO office for Summer 2024 with the option to continue during the school year.

Our MEP Team is seeking a MEP Intern to work out of our Kansas City, MO office.

Your Impact
  • Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
  • Function as part of the design team and utilize engineering design.
  • Learn basic principles of electrical system design and become familiar with Revit.
  • Perform basic calculations.
  • Assist in analyzing data.
  • Perform basic engineering design and production and construction administration services.
  • Provide assistance in engineering or/and other technical areas.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Current standing as a Rising Junior, Senior or Graduate student actively enrolled in an accredited Architectural, Mechanical, Civil or Fire Protection Engineering Undergraduate or Graduate program.
  • Experience with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and producing technical drawings.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Local candidates preferred.
  • Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
  • Experience with Revit, and knowledge of reading construction plans.
