Description
Control revenues by receiving and disbursing a variety of financial transactions for merchandise or services while providing a high level of customer service.
- Organize cash drawers to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
- Greet customers entering establishments
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Resolve customer complaints, answer questions and provide necessary information
- Receive payment by cash, debit or credit cards
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers
- Calculate and balance cash drawer at the end of each shift
- Stock shelves, rotate merchandise and price products
- Keep deli food cooked and case stocked
- Keep soda, coffee, cappuccino and condiments full
- Stock walk-in cooler
- Clean, stock and maintain beer cave
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Zerot to six (0-6) months of previous related experience
- Must have effective communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
Criteria/Conditions
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
- Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
- Customer Service: The cashier must consistently be able to assess, anticipate and meet guests' needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from guests' dining experience. This requires practical knowledge of industry customer service standards
- Communication: Cashiers must clearly communicate in a professional manner with guests, vendors, coworkers and management. They must understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when he or she needs more direction
- Interpersonal Relationships: Cashiers must adapt to different personalities of guests and coworkers without losing focus. Extreme familiarity or conflicts with coworkers often weaken a team-oriented work environment
- Problem Solving and Conflict Management: Cashiers must recognize a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy and procedure
- Performing General Physical Activities: Must perform physical activities that require moderate strength including standing, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling of materials
- Analytical Skills: The ability to think using logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternatives for a successful outcome. Must verify information by compiling, coding and calculating data
- Technical Skills: Must know or quickly learn general accounting and mathematical skills
- Language Skills: Must speak and write with excellent command of the English language including proper spelling and grammar

Compensation:
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $XX.XX - $XX.XX/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
