About The Role  

The Merchandise Assistant role is integral to the success of the Beauty and Wellness Buying Team. This role will provide support to the buying team in managing product assortments, POs, and vendors. The Merchandise Assistant will report into the Assistant Buyer, Beauty and Wellness. 

  • Create and maintain all purchase orders, manage order adjustments, request shipment tracking, and resolve discrepancies 
  • Liaise with brands and cross-functional departments regarding order confirmation, warehouse receipts, and order issues to support product launches and replenishment 
  • Support Assistant Buyer in new product launches including deliverables and timelines, SKU creation, and on-time receipt of assets, comps, and inventory 
  • Manage updates to existing product pages with brands to optimize conversion and keep PDPs up-to-date 
  • Update weekly reporting documents, send monthly consignment selling reports to vendors, assist ad hoc reporting as needed 
  • Maintain sample closet – request comps, unpack boxes, review ingredients, facilitate a check-in/check-out process, create and manage an ongoing sample catalog 
  • Execute RTVs and gratis requests  
  • Assist in inventory management and replenishment to support upcoming marketing activations and editorial content 
  • Maintain buying team calendar and support in administrative duties – meeting scheduling and preparation; providing agendas, recaps, and next steps  
  • Attend market meetings as needed and assist new product research based on competitive landscape insights on emerging brands/trends 
  • Support VP of Wholesale in administrative duties, such as - meeting scheduling, agenda preparation and recaps, product comp sends, ad hoc set up documentation forms, presentation, and reporting as required 
  • Encourage continuous process improvement and efficiencies 

 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • 0-2 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or e-commerce 
  • Extremely comfortable in Microsoft Office, proficiency in Excel preferred  
  • Extremely detail-oriented, self-driven, team player, and solution-oriented 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work in a fast-paced, often-changing environment 
  • A genuine interest in product, e-commerce, beauty, and wellness!  

FAQ 

  • Compensation: $20-$22/per hour + Equity. Please note that this range represents the low and high end of the anticipated compensation range for the Los Angeles, CA based position. Goop, in good faith, reasonably expects to pay the position within this salary range. Goop provides the salary range in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, training, knowledge and skills, and if the location of the job changes.
