Introduction

The Merger Integration Analyst is responsible for supporting the successful integration of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities within the organization. This role serves as a change leader helping support the successful integration of newly acquired firms. The Merger Integration Analyst will work closely with senior management, project teams, and external stakeholders to drive the integration process and achieve strategic objectives.

How you'll make an impact

  • Serve as a leader of change management, indoctrinating new merger partners into Gallagher. This includes:
    • Conducting a thorough analysis of acquired merger partners to map legacy processes and service models to Gallagher standards, systems, and operations,
    • Making recommendations to project managers and integration leadership on the timing and pace of integration plans, and
    • Ensuring merger partner principals and team members clearly understand integration plans and have a single point of contact to escalate and elevate concerns, questions, and feedback.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and inform the development of integration project plans, timelines, and key milestones so that items are sequenced by priority, specific to each integration. This includes:
    • Identifying downstream impacts, risks, and issues associated with the integration process and supporting development of mitigation strategies.
    • Collaborating with HR, IT, Finance, business line leadership, and other functional teams to align processes, systems, and policies, and
    • Position integration decision points to merger partners and promote alignment between merger and Gallagher leaders.
  • Support change management best practices, which include the following:
    • Coordinating and facilitate integration meetings, workshops, and communication sessions with merger partners to support integration success.
    • Supporting the development and implementation of change management strategies to ensure smooth transition, employee engagement, and merger success.
    • Conducting post-merger evaluations to assess the effectiveness of integration strategies and identify areas for improvement.
    • Employing agile approaches to escalate stakeholder experiences and suggesting improvements or changes to existing project plans when circumstances permit.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to the insurance industry, employee benefits, and mergers and acquisitions is required.
  • Support or lead other strategic initiatives and projects as required.

About you

Required: Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience required. Overnight and/or day travel may be required up to 25% of the time.

  • Must be a self-starter, having demonstrated experience in a lead role, be well organized and a strong leader who can adapt easily and rapidly to new developments and changing priorities
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving and consensus building skills; the ability to assess complex situations and develop practical solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, lead through influence, gain consensus, and drive change.
  • A curious contributor who can confidently ask questions in order to understand business models, strategies, and approaches
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
