Metal Finisher

Job Overview Established stair and railing fabricating company, located in Ridgewood, NY is seeking,a skilled Metal Finisher to join our fabricating team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for completing finishing tasks on metal, including mechanical, such as grinding, polishing, as well as chemical finishing on brass, steel, and aluminum, of decorative railing components, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications. This role requires a strong aptitude, attention to detail, and proficiency with a variety of tools and metal finishing chemistry. Responsibilities • Perform finishing operations on metal railing components, including sanding, grinding, and polishing to achieve desired surface quality. • Utilize hand tools . • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. • Utilize chemicals in metal finishing process, to alter the appearance and corrosion resistance of railing components • Conduct quality inspections throughout the finishing process to maintain high standards. • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols. Requirements • Proven experience in manufacturing or machining environments. • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various equipment such as grinders, electric polishing tools • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks. • Ability to read blueprints and technical documents accurately. • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Work Location: In person
