Job Description

As a valued leader on our team, you will collaborate with leadership in developing strategic plans for managing communications and/or negotiations between Fannie Mae and clients regarding loans and other investments. In this role, you will provide oversight on underwriting and reviewing the issuance of securities to customers, and ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, processes, and standards.

The MF Risk - Underwriting - Senior Manager role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Multifamily real estate underwriting.
  • Advise on potential risks and costs involved with providing services to a customer.
  • Analyze the risks and costs of a lending decision and make recommendations on process improvement related to decision process.
  • Advise on process related to issuance of the securities or other financial loans to the customer.
  • Manage team efforts and processes to gather information about potential risks and costs involved with providing services to a customer.
  • Oversee and review the team's lending decisions and manage decision process.
  • Lead process on issuance of the securities or other financial loans to the customer and make recommendations to leadership on process changes.

Minimum Required Experiences

  • 6 years

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent

Skills

  • Loan Management including evaluating loan requests, classifying loans, identifying fraud, originating loans, etc.
  • Experience evaluating businesses, projects, budgets, and other financial entities or instruments to determine viability, stability, and performance.
  • Risk Assessment and Management including evaluating and designing controls, conducting impact assessments, identifying control gaps, remediating risk, etc.
    Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion.
  • Experience gathering accurate information to explain concepts and answer critical questions.
  • Relationship Management including managing and engaging stakeholders, customers, and vendors, building relationship networks, contracting, etc.
  • Skilled in documentation and database reporting for the purposes of analysis, data discovery, and decision-making with the use of relevant software such as Crystal Reports, Excel, or SSRS.
  • Influencing including negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict.
  • Working with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively to work toward a common goal.
  • Skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand.
  • Collective capabilities for leadership, including leading teams, giving feedback, facilitating meetings, and coaching and mentoring.
