Job Description:
Description: Multidiscipline position with understanding of all areas of hospital cost accounting, reimbursement, financial analysis and productivity. Responsible for maintaining a cost accounting system which provides statistical and financial information to JPS Board and management. Supervises financial analysts in the monthly processing of the cost accounting system. Provide a broad range of developing, analyzing, and maintaining financial plans through support and collaboration with management and members of the system financial teams. Also responsible for a productivity reporting application which provides bi-weekly feedback on labor resource utilization as compared to internal or external targets.
Typical Duties:
- Monitors and maintains integrity of management information systems utilized to perform financial planning and analysis.
- Prepares written and oral presentations covering complex technical or business matters in a manner tailored to the background, experience, and time constraints of the audience.
- Responsible for Productivity Reporting tool and associated outcomes.
- Analyzes, recommends updates and establishes productivity, performance and unit of measure standards based on industry benchmarks and best practice in cooperation with Network Leadership.
- Develops business case models required for strategic and financial planning.
- Performs cost analysis to determine the viability and profitability of various capital and operating investments.
- Responsible for developing and distributing service line financial reports.
- Directs and evaluates work activities for team members. Performs annual performance reviews; develops goals and objectives. Provides coaching and development counseling. Provides input into the hiring decisions and recommendations for team members.
- Coordinates routine (monthly, quarterly, annual) and ad hoc cost accounting reporting and processes
- Supports operational departments through financial training and reporting.
- Assists with special projects or research as requested.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field from an accredited University.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a healthcare financial management or analysis position.
- Minimum of 2 years experience with cost accounting
- Certified Professional Accounting (CPA) license.
- Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field from an accredited University.
