SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

This position manages and creates department specific practices/procedures that will improve and streamline processes while keeping safety at the forefront. This position supports both engineering and field personnel by ensuring policies and best practices are readily made available along with any additional technical support as required. This position requires the review of department safe work practices and procedures on a yearly basis to ensure compliance with Amtrak and regulatory standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Creating and reviewing department safe work practices and procedures.
  • Providing day-to-day clarifications of standards and safe work practices/procedures to department engineering and field personnel.
  • Providing technical assistance to department engineers as needed.
  • Ensuring both engineering and field personnel have access to department communications and standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training, education, and relevant experience

MINIMUM KSA (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Strong expertise in the following:
  • Business acumen
  • Written and verbal communication
  • Critical thinking / Problem Solving
  • Analytics / Decision Making

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7 years of relevant experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • 70% office environment and 30% railroad environment.

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

The salary/hourly range is $110,750 - $143,530. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee's assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee's base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
