Manager Engineering

The Manager of Engineering will collaborate closely with Data Scientists and Healthcare Leaders to manage and grow the clinical data analytic platforms to support the Cost of Care and broader initiatives. The Carelon Analytics Team is responsible for building Data Science and Analytic Solutions addressing a wide range of behavioral needs.

How you will make an impact:

• Lead the technical vision, identify strategic opportunities, and implement new technologies including migration to cloud-based datastores.• Align engineering functions to enable analytic and clinical programs.• Work closely with leadership on planning and execution of short and long-term goals.• Oversee the growth and design of large-scale data analytics and reporting platforms.• General oversight of the clinical data analytics and engineering codebase.• Collaborate with other IT functional areas including administrators and security professionals to ensure infrastructure standards are met.• Assist in budget development and execution.• Manage, mentor, and grow the engineering team. This position will have direct reports and be responsible for identifying and retaining talented engineers.• Maintain existing system practices including DevOps and code deployments.• May also perform the work of engineers during high-volume periods.• Track project scope, timelines, and delivery expectations.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field of study and a minimum of 5 years of experience demonstrating technical expertise in one or more specific technologies; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

• Healthcare experience and prior knowledge of healthcare data and clinical concepts are strongly preferred.• Strong knowledge and experience with SQL, Informatica, and Python.• Familiarity with relational database environments like Snowflake.• Three years of management or leadership experience is strongly preferred.• Experience working with large datasets (10+TB).
