Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.
Role & Responsibilities• Lead the team to drive the attainment of relevant procurement KPI's, incl. project management, Material Productivity, supplier delivery, and supplier quality.• Create a supplier sourcing strategy and conduct supplier base management, supplier footprint management to align with GATD sales strategy and product portfolio &roadmap strategy.• Manage supplier performance with scorecard and QBRs, co-work with related functions for supplier classification, supplier footprint and resourcing activities• Drive continuous cost improvement and material productivity with necessary cost mode/tool, VA/VE, cost drivers, cost analysis and saving pipeline, etc.• Responsible for contracting of supplier commercial agreements. • Support supply chain team on supply issue, review and plan the capabilities and capacities of suppliers to avoid constraints and shortages. Conduct risk assessments for new suppliers and legacy suppliers not done yet.• Ensure suppliers are compliant to global and regional regulatory or legal requirements (RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, etc.)• Lead NPI projects and ensure NPI alignment to global sourcing strategy.• Team budget& team management. Build, develop, lead, and inspire whole team and upgrade the overall competency with necessary mentoring, training and motivation.• Travel: 10%-25% domestic travel
COMPENSATION• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $99,000 - $148,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
What your background should look like:
- Bachelor degree in Economics or Business Administration or equivalent
- 10+ years commodity management experience or strategic procurement experience.
- 3+ years people management experience
- Sourcing experience for relevant commodities (Application tooling, machining, Outsourcing, subcontracting) is a plus
- Excellent problem solving skills, analytical skills, and communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate strong customer focus and continues improvement attitude
- Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work in a matrix environment with multi-cultural teams
- Ability to create competitive strategies and plans, broad knowledge of strategies and tactics of the marketplace, knows trends
- Proven track record in negotiation skills
