Job Summary
This Position Is Responsible For Providing Leadership, Workload Management, And Technical Expertise To Ensure That Contract Standards Are Met Or Exceeded, To Ensure Customer Satisfaction, And To Support The Needs Of The Department. This Position Is Directly Responsible For Monitoring And Coordinating Resources For The External Programming Contractor For The Ihs/Cps Application; Managing The Medical Record Review Team; Managing The Internal Systems Coordination Team; And Providing Leadership To The Supervisor Of The Analysis & Reporting Area.
Responsibilities
- Bachelor Degree in Business OR 4 years experience in a corporate business environment.
- 3 years management experience in a healthcare environment OR 5 years experience in a position requiring leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage diverse groups and multiple priorities/activities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a team environment, facilitate teams, support consensus decisions, display flexibility, present a professional and knowledgeable image, and act with diplomacy.
- Analytical, problem resolution, planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- PC proficiency to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes.
- Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (ability to present clear, concise, and accurate information).
- Ability to travel including overnight stays.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of Medicare reimbursement methodologies, as well as private insurance reimbursement and claims processing concepts.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and industry accepted coding.
- Knowledge of health care medical procedure analysis methods and cost and utilization analysis methods.
- Knowledge of health care finance and reimbursement methods.
- Knowledge of mainframe and personal computer data management and manipulation methodologies, including tools such as TSO, MS Office, and SAS programming applications.
- Knowledge of quality and appropriateness of care assessments
- Knowledge and experience with automated claims processing systems input and output.
