Job Overview
The Automotive Americas Sustaining Engineering organization contributes to over $1 billion in annual sales revenue spanning a wide range of product including high voltage electrification solutions, data solutions, and terminal/connector/headers. The Customer Resident Engineering team serves as the primary first line technical interface to automaker OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. This team manages the full product life cycle from pre-acquisition intelligence, acquisition, product launch and post launch sustaining.
The role of Customer Engineering Manager involves managing a group of customer resident engineers located at various Automotive customer locations within the US. The role will work with the team to address the demands of the expanding business, particularly in electrification and data connectivity systems. Furthermore, the Manager will serve as a representative for TE Connectivity products and solutions at the customer's organization, engaging with individuals at all levels. The goal is to cultivate the team and foster valuable relationships with the customer to promote the growth of TE Connectivity's business.
Responsibilities • Manage a team of Customer Resident Engineers that serve as the initial technical interface externally to global OEM and Tier 1 customers.• Manage and prioritize internal and external open item action lists. Facilitate cross -functional team meeting to address action items and achieve closure. The cross functional team includes product engineering, product management, quality, operations, and sales. • Develop relationships with customers to identify new opportunities and solutions to meet customer's needs. Capture meaningful customer feedback and communicate to cross functional internal teams.• Work closely and strategically with TE sales/Field application engineers and Product/Process teams to provide customer viewpoint and handle business growth.• Organize opportunities to present technology and product roadmap to customers.• Manage team and participate in internal team meetings to ensure timely project execution and planned breakpoints are achieved.• Drive team to be well versed in customer requirements and communicate internally to steer internal product and technology development activities.• Work closely with and handle quality, product development, sustaining, and sales cross functional teams.• Prepare presentations to effectively communicate project status, highlights/disappointments, risks, mitigation plans to internal and external leadership.• Actively manage and mentor the Customer Engineering Residents on development and growth opportunities.
What your background should look like:• BS in Engineering Required • Minimum of 5 years experience in Engineering product development.• Minimum of 3 years in customer facing role.• Manager experience preferred• Strong team management and organizational skills and ability to interface well with all levels of personal/management• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, Office, PowerPoint)• Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written)• Familiarity with hybrid and electric vehicle architectures and integration is a plus • Ability to manage multiple products/projects with attention to detail • Local to San Francisco Bay Area location or Detroit Metro; Ability to visit customer 2-3 per week.• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize issues and make intelligent, timely decisions independently or in coordination with other cross-functional teams.• Periodic travel is required based on project needs

COMPENSATION• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $117,500 -$176,300 (subject to change dependent on physical location)• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
