This position is responsible for helping to develop and execute various communications and event strategies and tactics to support the AMC Networks' Film Group's box office, revenue, streaming metrics and branding goals for IFC Films, RLJE Films and Shudder Films.

This position will assist in increasing brand awareness and driving audience through comprehensive communications and event strategies and strategic promotions and partnerships designed to reach key external audiences, including viewers, clients, talent, filmmaking and television communities.

The position will jointly report into the VP of Public Relations and VP of Festivals & Publicity based in New York and collaborate with others in the PR department as well as outside agencies and consultants.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to planning, development and execution of strategic publicity campaigns as well as festival/panel/industry (WOM) screening programs and other promotional events for the film slate across IFC Films, RLJE and Shudder.
  • Assist in facilitating all national and regional publicity efforts working in conjunction with filmmaking teams and film agencies
  • Manage and build relationships with filmmakers, producers and cast
  • Develop and foster relationships with media, pitch assigned media, media follow up
  • Coordinate publicity appearances and interviews with talent and producers

  • Assist with detailed event and festival budgets for PR campaigns
  • Write and help oversee press materials, including releases, media alerts, talking points, press notes, Q&As, bios, etc.
  • Work closely with awards, talent relations, marketing, digital and distribution departments to ensure that efforts are coordinated and maximized

QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)

Key Experience

  • Education - Marketing, Public Relations or Communications.
  • 5+ years in entertainment and media, preferably in film, and with a strong interest in and understanding of the indie film market as well as horror content.
  • Extensive experience in public relations, corporate communications and marketing in feature films and/or films on streaming platforms.

Functional Competencies/Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of and experience in the entertainment and film businesses

  • Strong understanding of media; knowledge of key members of the press
  • Understanding of activity planning, accrual accounting and budgeting processes
  • Self-starter with a collaborative work style
  • Highly organized and clear communicator
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines

  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously with accurate and timely results

The base compensation range for this position is $80,000.00 to $90,000.00, commensurate with experience.
