ABOUT THIS ROLE

Duties/Responsibilities

• Lead a team of developers in building high-quality scalable and resilient distributed systems

• Foster an environment of rapid learning and adaptation to new technologies tools and frameworks

• Oversee the design implementation and management

• Maintain high standards in version control using Git and ensure robust test automation practices are in place

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration and deployment of best-in-class financial services solutions

• Drive the development and maintenance of RESTful services microservices and service-oriented architectures

• Facilitate the continuous integration and delivery pipelines for seamless deployment and scalability

• Manage and mentor engineering teams encouraging continuous improvement and professional growth

• Travel occasionally to meet with engineering teams stakeholders and to stay aligned with industry advancements

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent work experience) required

• 8+ years work prior experience in software development

• 2+ years leading engineering teams

• Experience in financial services or a similar heavily regulated industry is preferred

• Proven experience in Agile Development methodologies (Scrum Kanban etc) and project management tools (e.g. Jira Confluence)

Required Skills/Abilities

• Proficient in managing version control systems preferably Git

• Advanced knowledge of software testing and automation tools

• Strong foundational understanding of software development best practices

• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and lead teams in learning and implementing these technologies

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to details

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically about technology-driven solutions

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Proficiency in cloud-based (GCP) backend systems and micro-service architecture to ensure scalability and reliability

• Solid understanding of DevOps principles with hands-on experience in CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation

• Understanding of security best practices for APIs backend systems and infrastructure

• Familiarity with financial systems trading and accounting concepts and compliance within regulated environments to build high-quality and secure solutions highly desired

Work Environment

• This job operates in a hybrid office environment 3 days per week
