About the Role:

We are looking for a highly creative Mgr., Employee Experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring retail and/or hospitality experience to create an exceptional workplace experience for our employees at Platform Science. We are looking for someone who is an experienced project manager and problem-solver with excellent communication skills.  This role reports to the Sr. Manager, HR Operations and Benefits. The primary work location will be daily, onsite in the San Diego, California office.  

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the Workplace Experience Coordinator by providing coaching and feedback with an intent to develop and enhance the employee’s knowledge and skillset.
  • Build & maintain strong cross functional partnerships with the Exec Admin team, Chief of Staff, the IT team, and the People Ops team to ensure clear communication, seamless handoffs, and collaboration across the company.
  • Create an exceptional welcoming experience for all employees & in-office visitors/guests 
  • Guide the planning for and actively manage the guest experience (candidates, investors, customers, partners, vendors, etc.) for in-house and off-site activities/events
  • Co-create the Employee Events Calendar and manage the Office & Facilities Calendar
  • Create and publish compelling event communications on Google calendar, email, slack, confluence and other platforms
  • Schedule the logistics and catering of meetings, employee events, offsites, and conferences
  • Source and manage vendor relationships and contracts across all office management (janitorial, building maintenance, security) and event vendors (catering and event services).
  • Lead the office operations and procedures and proactively update office protocols and policies
  • Lead and plan renovations, refurbishments, building projects and work orders
  • Ensuring all facilities meet compliance standards and EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) regulations.
  • Ensure exceptional general office support with start-to-end management of building/badge access process, office supplies & equipment inventory, and shipping & receiving
  • Oversee the kitchen inventory, food and beverage orders, and maintaining clean and healthy kitchen environment 
  • Manage, process and report spend for the events and office budgets

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years managing a team in the hospitality or retail industries and a track record of demonstrated success recruiting, developing, evaluating, motivating, and retaining employees
  • Ability to work at the San Diego headquarters on a daily basis
  • Strong technical skills using Macs, Slack and GSuite (Google Docs, Sheets, Presentation, Email etc.)
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Event planning experience
  • Experience with space planning and office build outs 
  • Proficient with email, scheduling, and communication tools
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills to support rapidly growing tech company
  • Adaptability and comfort executing well in a fast-paced and continually evolving environment 
  • Team player and proactive collaborator 
  • Keen ability to anticipate needs of employees at all levels
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Moves objects up to 20 pounds
  • B.A. in Marketing, Communications, or Hospitality, preferred

Our job titles for each posting may span across more than one job level. The estimated base salary for this role is between $62,306 and $92,466. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salaries across all US locations. Compensation packages are based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, work experience, relevant trainings and certifications, business needs, market demands and specific geographical location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
