About The Role

As the Manager, Mobile Operations at Platform Science, you'll play a crucial role in driving the daily operations of mobility management and associated business analytics, while also influencing our future strategy.

Your primary responsibilities will involve ensuring reliable and efficient operations of mobile devices in Production, including aspects such as Cellular Data Plans, MDM Management, and Device Configurations. Your insight and leadership will help guide the evolution of our mobile device management strategy. You'll lead a team that plays a significant role in decisions across the entire lifecycle of our mobile devices, from procurement to end of life.

As a recognized thought leader within Platform Science, you'll provide valuable guidance and input across various facets of the organization--this includes contributing to product roadmaps, sales material, customer support, and product operations. Your team will serve as a key escalation path for issues arising from Sales, Field Engineering, Customer Support, Hardware Readiness/Supply Chain, and business operations.

Reporting to the Director of Product Operations, who oversees Mobile Operations, Release Management, and Technical Writing, you'll be a key member of the Product Operations department. This role may occasionally require your support during production incidents.

The successful candidate will work closely with a diverse range of stakeholders including Sales, Procurement, Business Development, Product Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, Technical Writing, Release Management, Product Reliability, and other operational leaders within the business to ensure consistent operations and strategy.

Essential Responsibilities

Leadership and Management:

• Lead and develop a Product Operations team, with a clear focus on growing our overall understanding of cellular data analytics and device usage statistics. This includes growing the skill set of business analysts.
• Manage team growth and recruitment.
• Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports and stakeholders, including Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Product Reliability Engineering, Customer Success, Solutions Engineering, and the Hardware Readiness Team.
• Domain expertise on telecom and mobile device management trends, working with Product and Engineering to define industry-best in-cab experiences.

Analytics and Account Management for Telecom Partners:

• Advanced understanding of how MNOs, MVNOs, and CMP work--the expectation is that this candidate will have a fluency in their potential product offerings, with the ability to identify and work with Product to capitalize on growth opportunities for our Product portfolio.
• Ability to query databases and mature the business analytics processes associated with maintaining our vendor accounts; leveraging those insights to conduct regular account reviews so we can better optimize cost-effectiveness and performance.
• Understand the mechanics behind cellular data plan optimization, so that we can fundamentally drive decisions around which plans and devices to recommend.
• Leveraging our internal BI tools, Maintain and mature dashboards of KPIs for Cellular Data Usage, MDM, and Configurations.

Mobile Device Expertise:

• Experience as either a Mobile Network Engineer, Mobile Device Engineer, Wireless Network Engineer.
• Experience with administering and managing enterprise device portals/

Strategy:

• Identify, research, and document new revenue opportunities in the mobility landscape.
• Manage the implementation of any telecom or mobile device management initiatives that have been defined by Product.
• During product and engineering initiative roadmapping, serve as the subject matter expert for how partners and customers can and should be operating our products; specifically telecommunications, mobile device management, and device configurations. 

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in people management.
• At least 5 years' hands-on experience managing mobile/IoT devices and working with MNOs, MVNOs, and CMPs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including proficiency in SQL.
• Excellent leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams and communicate with technical and business stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management, including scope, target date tracking, and managing cross-functional dependencies.
• Experience in enterprise mobile device management or enterprise IT environment.
• Track record of leading large-scale projects and implementations
• Expertise in technical project or program management, familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies is a plus.
• Domain expertise in information systems such as Control Center, Samsung Knox Configure, and device provisioning.
• Fundamental understanding of telecommunications, including embedded SIMs, device certification, and communication protocols.
• Experience working with Product Managers and Solutions Engineering from Mobile Network Operations and Mobile Virtual Network Operators.

This is an exempt role. Our job titles for each posting may span across more than one job level. The estimated base salary for this role is between $90,568 and $164,500. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salaries across all US locations. Compensation packages are based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, work experience, relevant trainings and certifications, business needs, market demands and specific geographical location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
