Summary of Responsibilities

Responsible for developing and managing project plans and resources required to complete projects within defined scope, quality, time, and cost constraints. Responsible for driving the sales of capital projects, which involve large-scale investments in infrastructure, technology, or facilities. This role involves identifying potential clients, understanding their needs, and presenting tailored solutions to secure project contracts. Will also collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure the successful execution of projects. This position plays a crucial role in identifying opportunities, building relationships with clients and suppliers and closing deals for such capital projects.

Position Purpose

Provide sales, project, and operational support for projects including quotation entry, order entry, execution and planning, tracking and reporting.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Manage a team of inside sales.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, understanding their business objectives and project requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and tactics to target and secure capital project contracts.
  • Works with employees at all levels to define project goals and ensures that the project is delivered on time and on budget.
  • May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluation employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
  • Resolve, trace and escalate critical issues to management to minimize project risk factors.
  • Coordinates and executes the completion of milestones for documentation required by customer.
  • Attends and leads meetings relating to project progression.
  • Responsible for developing list of hand-off deliverables from sales team to execution team.
  • Collaborate with PM's and PPM's, engineers, technical experts, and other teams to ensure alignment between client needs and project execution.
  • Maintains strong working relationships with key suppliers.
  • Helps resolves issues related to project timelines and concerns.
  • Provides "cradle to grave" support for reviewing bids, performing analysis, problem solving and presents to appropriate individuals and groups.
  • Define and prepare project responsibility assignment matrix. (RACI matrix)
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements related to capital projects.
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers, customers and internal teams, and serve as a liaison between them and the organization.
  • Proficiency in CRM (Salesforce)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7-10 years in project execution and project management environment
  • Bachelor's degree or higher is a related field.
  • Project management training and experience.
  • Strong understanding of capital project management processes and principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Autonomy

  • Nature of work requires general supervision, exercises judgment. May be paired with a mentor. Work typically involves regular process checks or review of output by a coworker and/or supervisor.

Leadership

  • Oversee and supervise staff to ensure timely delivery of projects.

Environmental Job Requirements

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
  • This position will require in office participation approximately 75 % of the time as well as 15%-25% on site availability.
