Mid-level Desktop Support

Job Title: Mid-Level IT Desktop Support TechnicianSummary of Position:

The Desktop Support Technician will support PC-based computers and related equipment for our customers. This role requires technical expertise, experience, documentation skills, and project coordination to install or repair hardware/software and resolve technical issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues on client PCs and mobile devices using approved methods and processes.
• Enroll devices and push applications using Microsoft Intune; general knowledge of Intune setup and management is essential.
• Install and configure desktop imaging and upgrade systems from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
• Install hardware and software for clients, including setting up docking stations and conference room projectors.
• Work with vendors to repair printers.
• Provide Office 365 support to end-users.
• Complete necessary internal and client-related documentation on a daily basis.
• Train clients on basic computer knowledge.
• Communicate and interact with end-users and internal staff to resolve IT-related issues.
• Interpret and communicate complex information to diverse internal and external customers.
• Work effectively in both team environments and individually.
• Oversee ticket aging.
• Maintain a positive and proactive attitude, always keeping the customer's best interest in mind.

Qualification / Requirements:

• Intermediate knowledge of PC desktop support and local/network printer support.
• Basic knowledge of Networking and Windows-based servers.
• Prior experience in customer service.
• Basic knowledge of a ticket-based tracking system.
• Experience with desktop imaging, troubleshooting Windows 10, and upgrading to Windows 11.
• Knowledge of setting up docking stations and conference rooms, including projectors.
• Ability to work with vendors for printer repairs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Availability to work some nights and weekends as necessary.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Education / Training / Experience:

• Required:
  • 2-3 years of experience with Windows 10 and PC re-imaging.
  • 2-3 years of experience with PC and laptop hardware.
  • A+ Certification.
• Preferred:
  • ITILv3 certification.
  • Certifications: Server+, Network+, Microsoft MCP/MCSA/MCSE, Dell Hardware, HP Hardware, IBM/Lenovo Hardware.
  • Associate Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
