Mid-Level Java Developer Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have an active interest in combining strong software design, development, and architecture skills with domain-specific disciplines. Your day-to-day work will consist of working on an agile team to develop expert system AI capabilities. This will include implementing engineering rules and algorithms, integrating them into a cloud software solution, and testing algorithm and system performance. The candidate should demonstrate an initiative in problem-solving and a desire to incorporate novel solutions for complex problems.
Required Mid-Level Java Developer Qualifications:
- Due to the work, you'll perform and interactions with the intelligence community and DoD programs you will need to be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance (selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment)
- BS in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience
- Strong foundation in software development and experience with Java, Python, and/or C++
- Understanding of best practices for software development including coding standards, code reviews, version control, build processes, CI/CD, and testing
- Interested in learning new programming languages and technologies
- Demonstrated experience going from problem statement to prototype to production-ready algorithms
Additional Mid-Level Java Developer Desirable Qualifications:
- MS / Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field
- Team player with excellent presentation and written / oral communication skills
- Experience with GIS, geospatial data formats, coordinate reference systems, and tools such as GDAL, QGIS, or ArcGIS
- Experience integrating software capabilities into cloud computing environments
- Agile software development practices
- Experience working on intelligence and DoD programs
- Prior / existing security clearance
