Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting Java Developer to join our Fund Administration Systems organization.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a talented, technical excellent and self-motivating Mid-Level Java Developer to join our Fund Administration Systems organization. This position is primarily responsible for development of business-critical applications using the latest Java and Web technologies in support of the Fund Administration Business Unit. The candidate will assist in identifying problems with integration of Java, web services, and platform/database compatibility.
The candidate will provide technical leadership and collaborate with not only the development staff, but with the analytics team to develop and implement their core features and algorithms.
Responsibilities:
- Contributes to design and architecture, work closely with architects
- Conducts peer-reviews of functional design documentation
- Provides guidance on intended solution and best practices during development, configuration and testing phases
- Completes development, configuration, and unit testing of high complexity areas
- Resolves complex defects during testing phases
- Supports and executes performance testing
- Provides guidance on infrastructure and environment setup
- Production Support: Assists in troubleshooting production environment and tune the environments
- Ensures best practices are followed from a technical perspective during all phases of the project
- Willing to learn new technologies as needed to support the project initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least 5 + years of experience implementing systems, with 3 + years in the financial services industry
- Experience with Kotlin, Perl, Python, Windows batch scripting, shell scripts (.sh/.bsh)
- Ability to understand and proactively address security (static / dynamic) threats in the applications such as XSS.
- Java - must be proficient in the language, core libraries & design patterns (Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Spring Data, Spring Integration)
- Web-Development Angular, Swagger-UI, JavaScript, JSON, NodeJS, XML
- Extensive experience with REST web service development
- Experience with test frameworks: JUnit, TestNG, Mockito
- Strong knowledge and experience with relational database technologies preferably with experience in an ORM persistence tool such as Hibernate
- PL/SQL, Oracle, must have experience in building SQL queries, stored procedures and must understand basic principles of data modeling
- Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be skilled at writing specifications that other programmer can use to code data interfaces, user interfaces and workflows
- Familiar with tools such as GIT, Gradle, JIRA and Maven
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related work experience required

BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $90,000 to $120,000, which is specific to Jersey City, NJ and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role.
