Mid-Level Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer
Job Description
Torch Technologies is seeking skilled, team-oriented software developers to work with an advanced air and missile defense simulation. Developers will work in a team-oriented environment to modify and improve an existing simulation to satisfy customer analysis and program assessment objectives. Responsibilities include development and maintenance of simulation framework, algorithm development, integration with external models, post-processing analysis tools, and software product lifecycle support. Candidate must demonstrate problem solving skills and quickly gain domain specific knowledge. Work will be performed both individually and as part of a larger development team, including interacting with analysts and end users to identify and correct software defects and new capabilities.
Job Requirements
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or other STEM degree from an ABET accredited school and 5 or more years of professional development experience.
Required experience:
- C/C++, Java, or Python
- Problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired experience:
- Modeling and Simulation architectures
- DoD software development
- Team-based Software Development Tools (Git, GitLab, etc.)
- Object-Oriented Design
- Software threading and network communications
- Multi-language programming
- Containerized software environments and applications
Travel for this position may be required.
