Mid-Level Software Manager - Computer Vision and Remote Sensing
Job Description
In this role you will coordinate the development of state-of-the-art Computer Vision and satellite image-processing software solutions created by an interdisciplinary team of algorithm developers, applied scientists, and software developers, as well as University student and faculty subcontractors. You will ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Mid-Level Software Manager- Computer Vision and Remote Sensing Responsibilities include:
- Managing the development, deployment, and integration of software solutions
- Create and execute a software versioning and release management plan
- Create and execute a data management, versioning, and retention plan
- Track third-party software dependencies, licensing, and customer approvals
- Ensure compliance with licenses and regulations
- Approve and direct the delivery of software and data to customers/partners
- Provide direction to a cross-functional development team
- Resolve software deployment and integration errors, and document processes
- Technical project management
Mid-Level Software Manager - Computer Vision and Remote Sensing Qualifications:
- US citizenship required(green card holders are not eligible for this position)
- Eligibility to apply for and hold a U.S. security clearance (selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment)
- Prior experience tracking and prioritizing tasks across multiple projects simultaneously
- Robust applied software methodology, process, and quality skills
- Prior experience working cross-functionally with teams on complex software efforts
- Ability to mentor high-performing algorithm developers in good software practices
- Fluent in one or more object-oriented programming languages; C++ and/or Python preferred
- Experience with modern professional, agile software engineering practices and DevOps
- Experience in developing, deploying, and integrating software solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Experience with source code branching strategies and version management
- Familiar with dependency and license management
Mid-Level Software Manager - Computer Vision and Remote Sensing Education and Experience Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or similar technical fieldwith 5-7 years of relevant experience OR M.S. with 3-5 years of relevant experience OR Ph.D. with 1-3 years of relevant experience
