Mid-Level Ruby Developer

Gorilla Logic is looking for a Mid-Level Ruby Developer to join our team. As a member of our Agile team, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications, APIs, and microservices using Ruby on Rails. You will play a key role in designing innovative solutions and ensuring the scalability and efficiency of our applications. Our environment will require you to work effectively with your teammates, of course. But your real success will be measured by how well you couple critical thinking with self-motivation, enthusiasm, and determination.

Responsibilities:

•Develop and maintain web applications, APIs, and microservices using Ruby on Rails.

•Quickly adapt to new technologies and patterns, taking a leading role in designing innovative solutions.

•Design and develop scalable applications and tools in an Agile environment.

•Strong English communication skills required.

•Utilize analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex challenges.

Technical Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

•Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience in an Agile environment.

•Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, with a strong understanding of MVC frameworks and routing.

•Skilled in managing Ruby dependencies using Bundler.

•Experienced in writing and maintaining Rspec tests.

•Advanced knowledge of Git for version control.

•Familiarity with SQL (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.

•Experience with Docker for containerization and deployment.

•Knowledge of JavaScript and Single Page Application (SPA) development.

•Basic understanding of networking and network layer topology.

•Experience working in an Agile environment and using Scrum methodologies.

•Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to various stakeholders.

Bonus Skills:

•Experience with cloud services (like AWS, Azure and GCP)

•Experience with TypeScript

•Instrumenting application monitoring and alerting
