Job Description Requirements Language Arts teacher for grades 6-8. The candidate must possess the following skills and experience: Teacher’s instructional approach must align with Self Development Academy’s vision and mission. Certified Secondary/English Endorsement School Teacher. Must have SEI/ESL endorsement. Must have Content area expertise and pedagogical knowledge to teach rigorous curriculum. Use effective instructional strategies to inspire students to do their very best. Willing to learn and grow, attend professional development, and contribute to the school’s community. Must be accountable for student learning: Use of frequent formative assessments to direct instructions. Must have a passion for teaching. We are an "A" rated charter public school and we have been consistently rated in the top ten schools in Arizona. We offer competitive salary based on experience. We also offer health insurance benefits, and paid time off. This is a full time position. Normal hours are 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Task 1: Mastery of Content and Pedagogy Expertise Please contact us at www.selfdevelopmentacademy.com. This is a full-time position. A master's degree is preferred but not required. Strong understanding of English Language Arts standards Ability to develop lessons that are cross-curricular Task 2: Establishment of Inclusive Learning Environment Create and maintain a positive learning environment with solid classroom management. Foster communication and partner with parents to ensure student success Task 3: Effective Instruction Plan, organize, and effectively teach rigorous Math curriculum Prepare for and support educational paraprofessionals that are assigned to classroom to support students Adapt teaching methods and instruction to meet students’ varying needs and interests

Task 4: Leadership and Reflection Participate in professional development, professional learning communities, committee work, and in staff meetings Task 5: Accountability Monitor student growth through various forms of informal and formal assessments Utilize student data to inform instruction Education and Experience: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or Secondary education. Required experience: 6th-8th Grade Job Type: Full-time Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year Work Location: In person
