Job Summary:

The Middleware development Lead is responsible for ensuring that projects are completed according to our quality, delivery, and cost (QDC) standards. They will work closely with the Solution design team to implement integration projects for strategic business units. The Middleware development Lead will assist the team to building best in class middleware solutions globally across all functional areas for Trane Technologies. They will also lead lean initiatives to improve efficiency in the development process and increase productivity. The ideal candidate for this role should have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as hands on experience in middleware solution design and development.

Responsibilities:

• Understanding of enterprise architecture, systems architecture, integration and data architecture standards, frameworks, and practices
• Work closely with Solution design team members to understand the requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality integration solutions that are aligned with the business and IT strategies.
• Define and maintain governance processes for API, Integration standards and enforce adherence to ensure consistent high-quality deliverables with proper change control
• Strategically design and build reusable assets to improve operational efficiencies and reduce cost
• Align with Trane Technologies lean initiatives to accelerate time to value and eliminate waste from development processes
• Analyze business requirements and translate the same to integration requirement stories
• Collaborate with operations to continuously improve SOP for knowledge transfer and code deployment
• Enforce, Review, and continuously improve high-quality coding standards to align with Trane Technologies secure coding policies
• Provide technical leadership in integration area when collaborating with other IT teams on project work
• Responsible for identifying and creation of standard work in Trane Technologies middleware space
• Manage and guide internal resources as well as augmented or externally sourced team members

Qualifications:

• Proven history working with developers, architects, and cross-functional business stakeholders in both technical and functional disciplines
• Expertise with Service Oriented, SOAP/RESTful APIs, Microservices, and event-driven architecture
• Experience on major transformation projects and successful transitions to implementation support teams.
• Understanding of Agile delivery, CI/CD DevOps practices, and principles
• Experience of Cloud platforms features and capabilities.
• Experience managing and leading technically diverse and virtual teams
• Basic understanding of IT application lifecycle and general controls
• Experience in resolving escalated issues arising from project delivery and requiring coordination with other stakeholders.

Key Competencies:

Qualified candidates will be driven individuals, and possess exceptional business acumen, coupled with strong working knowledge of middleware implementations plus some of the following skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Information Technology.
• 8 or more years of hands-on working experience in design, build and support of middleware solutions using Oracle, software AG or other middleware platforms
• Good knowledge of Global Security implementation practices for API's and Integrations
• Experience working on Cloud Platforms Preferable AWS and certification is a plus.
• API Management/Gateway Experience is a plus
• Ability to build and communicate architecture leveraging modeling tools like Visio or draw.io or Lucid Chart
• Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously among changing priorities
• Must be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

Base Compensation Range is $86,000 to $132,500
