Job Description

As a Middleware Support Engineer, you will be responsible for managing enterprise-wide middleware and application hosting technologies, ensuring adherence to standards, patterns, and lifecycle management. This role requires expertise in various middleware tools, with mandatory experience in Tibco. You will collaborate with the Solutions Engineering team to design solutions, develop deployment procedures, and optimize performance for middleware instances and servers. Additionally, you will interface with third-party service providers and vendors for incident and problem management, and oversee the lifecycle of application hosting and middleware technology products.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain enterprise-wide middleware and application hosting technology standards and lifecycle management.
  • Provide support to the Solutions Engineering team in designing solutions and developing repeatable deployment procedures.
  • Perform performance tuning for middleware instances and servers to ensure maximum performance.
  • Develop frameworks and best practices for disaster recovery, high availability application design, and test environment specifications.
  • Interface with third-party service providers and vendors for incident and problem management resolution.
  • Install, configure, and integrate middleware components including TomCat, Informatica, MuleSoft, Tibco, and others.
  • Upgrade and migrate middleware tech stack for PLM activities.
  • Administer middleware products and provide application support during project phases.
  • Deploy and support web-based platforms, ensuring adherence to specifications and performance requirements.
  • Implement middleware leading practices improvements for optimal performance and monitoring alerts to prevent incidents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, Pearl, Ruby, and Powershell for task automation.
  • Proficiency in Unix, Linux, and Windows environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center networking, including Cisco components (ACI, ACS, ISE), routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), WANs, LANs, NAT, and firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA).
  • Familiarity with application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
  • Experience with virtual platform systems and F5 load balancers.
  • CCIE and/or CISSP certification preferred but not required.
