Job Description
As a Midrange Engineer - Linux with Frost, you will be responsible for planning, configuring, optimizing, and maintaining Linux OS environments and applications across the organization.
Responsibilities will include planning, implementing, configuring and supporting Linux Operating Systems and applications; responding to, troubleshooting, and resolving complex escalated Linux-related tickets and issues; performing root cause analysis, establishing return to service, and documenting resolution strategies; collaborating with other IT teams, management, and lines of business to provide troubleshooting assistance for large-scale outages and implementing Linux infrastructure and Linux security needs for cross-functional projects across the organization. Assisting in the development of automation tools to eliminate toil, enhance the provisioning, management, and administration of Linux infrastructure and Linux security in a repeatable, standardized, and efficient manner. Identifying projects to enhance Linux systems and applications across the organization. Implementing approved Linux enhancement projects; developing and maintaining documentation and procedures for Linux administration; maintaining documentation and procedures for Linux engineering; and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of current and emerging Linux principles and industry standards. The candidate will ensure a scalable, secure, and redundant Linux infrastructure that complies with Frost specifications and security standards.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, in a related field, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in Linux administration and/or engineering
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi/vCenter
- Expertise in and experience with Red Hat Satellite Server
- Experience in one or more scripting/programming languages (Python, Bash scripting, KornShell scripting, Sed, Awk, Perl, or Java)
- Experience with Git (Bitbucket, GitLab, or GitHub)
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft computer applications

Preferred:
- Experience with Containers and Container orchestration tools such as OpenShift or Kubernetes
- Expertise in and experience with tools allowing Active Directory integration for Linux account maintenance such as Centrify
- Familiarity with Tenable or similar security tool
- Familiarity with Agile methodology
- Experience with JBOSS, WebSphere, or Spring/Springboot
- RHCSA, RHCE, or RHCA Certification
