Who you are:
As a Midrange Engineer at Frost, you are our code master, not only writing the codes but understanding the why's behind them. Our midrange engineers believe in collaboration, ingenuity, and truly want to drive design and change in the IT realm. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, configuring, optimizing, and maintaining of UNIX OS environments and applications across the organization. You welcome a challenge and want to ensure a scalable and secure infrastructure with our signature all-win approach in mind.
What you'll do:
- Plan, implement, configure and support Linux and AIX Operating Systems and applications
- Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve complex escalated UNIX-related tickets and issues
- Perform root cause analysis, establish return to service, and document resolution strategies
- Collaborate with other IT teams, management, and lines of business to provide troubleshooting assistance for large-scale outages and implement UNIX infrastructure and UNIX security needs for cross-functional projects across the organization
- Assist in the development of automation tools to enhance the provisioning, management, and administration of UNIX infrastructure and UNIX security in a repeatable, standardized, and efficient manner
- Identify projects to enhance Linux and AIX systems and applications across the organization
- Implement approved Linux and AIX enhancement projects
- Develop and maintain documentation and procedures for UNIX administration. Maintain documentation and procedures for UNIX engineering
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of current and emerging UNIX principles and industry standards
- Assist other Midrange team members
- Perform all other duties as assigned
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, in a related field, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in Linux administration and/or engineering
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi/vCenter
- Expertise in and experience with Red Hat Satellite Server
- Experience in one or more scripting/programming languages (Python, Bash scripting, KornShell scripting, Sed, Awk, Perl, or Java)
- Experience with Git (Bitbucket, GitLab, or GitHub)
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft computer applications

Additional Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Containers and Container orchestration tools such as OpenShift or Kubernetes
- Expertise in and experience with tools allowing Active Directory integration for Linux account maintenance such as Centrify
- Familiarity with Tenable or similar security tool
- Familiarity with Agile methodology
- Experience with JBOSS, WebSphere, or Spring/Springboot
- RHCSA, RHCE, or RHCA Certification
