Job Description
Torch Technologies is seeking a Mid-Senior level Network Administrator (SA) to support network administration and cyber duties for a government-run missile defense lab operating tactical hardware and software in a test and analysis environment. The selected candidate will participate it daily lab test operations by monitoring daily network performance and working with server administrators to troubleshoot communication gaps encountered during integration and testing. They will use traditional OSI-model, ground-up techniques to troubleshoot and resolve physical, logical, routing, access-control lists, multicast and operating system transmission errors. In addition, they will also work with a team of systems and network administrators performing duties such as cable deployment, switch and router configuration, network monitoring implementation, and troubleshooting. The network administrator will also be responsible for supporting configuration documentation central to the lab's engineering configuration and Risk Management Framework (RMF) package.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- Candidate should possess minimum 5+ years of experience in server and workstation networking and network configuration.
- Hands-on network experience with Cisco switches and routers, copper and fiber-optic cabling and cable standards.
- Network monitoring during active test events using tools such as Solar Winds and SPLUNK, and Linux tools.
- Experience with static routing, access control lists, SPAN and VLAN implementation
- Network troubleshooting with industry standard tools including Cisco IOS and Palo Alto hardware, Solar Winds network monitor, SPLUNK, Wireshark; and server-side environments including windows, Linux and Linux-variants
- Documentation of network and device configurations
- Use of Cisco IOS command line environment to implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Candidate must demonstrate strong teamwork skills suitable to the work environment
Desirable Skills:
- Working knowledge of multicast networking
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, RSA or multi-factor authentication
- Solarwinds and SPLUNK integration
Educational & Certification Requirements:
- BS degree or equivalent work experience
- Cisco CCENT, CCNA or greater Cisco certification required
- Current CompTIA Security+ or CISP, or CISSP certification required
Security Clearance: An active DoD Secret clearance is required to start.
