JOB SUMMARY:

The Mil/Gov Solution Manager is responsible for developing and introducing new solutions, products and programs to market. The three phases will include but will not be limited to, setting the product and program vision, working to manage product and program lifecycles, and effectively communicating plans and strategies throughout the organization.

To be the most effective Mil/Gov Solution Manager, the candidate will employ a mix of technical and business acumen to effectively vet new solutions and bring solutions to the market, which are driven by market demand. Based on market research, the Mil/Gov Solution Manager will work across the organization to develop requirements, schedules, plans, and strategies to bring the solution to market. During new solution development, the Mil/Gov Solution Manager will create the requirements and participate in development of the new solution, providing general oversight and input to the organization relating to business objectives and customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should demonstrate the following competencies to consistently perform the essential functions of this position. All employees are expected to adhere to and be knowledgeable of Satcom Direct (SD) operations standards, established security/safety rules and requirements for attendance. The requirements listed below are representative of the fundamental knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the job successfully:

  • Develop solution business cases/models.
  • Develop solution strategies in alignment with corporate strategies.
  • Develop and communication of solution Roadmaps
  • Manage RFI (Request For Information)/RFP (Request For Proposal) requests.
  • Work directly with Marketing to promote solution roadmap and milestones.
  • Perform Market Research /analysis/development of products and solutions.
  • Create PRD (Product Requirements Documents).
  • Develop pricing analysis and recommendations.
  • Work closely with OEM/Dealer networks and Finance to develop Product Forecasting
  • Interface with product suppliers, subcontractors and partners.
  • Work directly with Sales and Marketing to promote Satcom Direct Product offerings.
  • Establish Go-To-Market criteria to ensure overall readiness of product including all internal operational support and sales functions.
  • Implement and communicate effective End of Life plans
  • Travel may be required from time to time; will vary depending on business needs.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Must have at least 7+ years' experience in solution development.
  • Experience in Aviation product development
  • Military experience preferred
  • Experience or direct knowledge of software engineering, network architecture, satellite communications and avionics development preferred

Abilities and Skills:

  • Must be a confident communicator and presenter.
  • Must be able to balance multiple projects, change orders, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Superior project management and time management skills with a wide degree of creativity and flexibility.
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management; advisory skills to senior manager and executives.
  • Excellent understanding of the product development on regional, national, and global levels.
  • Proficient with general office software including but not limited to; Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to adapt to a variety of other software databases.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing general office duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening and reading, able to lift light objects (< 25lbs), and use standard office equipment such as computer, printer, phone and cell phone. In addition, there is an occasional need to bend, twist or stoop in order to open/close cabinets, reach for files or other standard office type objects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The office environment is generally quiet and, in a temperature, controlled setting with random adjustments in noise or temperature due to others talking or laughing loudly, unscheduled maintenance repairs to the building or its interior offices or unpredictable situations due to weather or other acts beyond company control. An employee must be willing to work their regularly assigned work schedule for their particular duties and/or job responsibilities and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on company/department needs, project requirements or customer demands. Some overnight travel is required to facilitate work objectives. While at client site locations, if applicable, employee will be required to adhere to the proper safety precautions established by the client while in proximity to their work area, flight-line or maintenance repair center; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. The temperature at client locations can vary from controlled to variations off hot/cold when working, standing or walking in or near the flight-line or maintenance repair center.

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $90,000-$110,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. SD also offers a variety of benefits including: health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, experience level and location.
