Millwork Cabinet Assembler
Job Description
Optimum Furniture and Millwork is a manufacturer of wood cabinetry and fixtures. We are looking for a full-time employee to join our assembly team and to assist with the construction/building of various wood and laminate products. Previous cabinet assembly experience is necessary. If you are a motivated self-starter who works well in a team environment, you are an ideal candidate.
Duties and responsibilities
• Assemble standard base, upper, and related cabinets using dowel construction
• Load and unload cabinet boxes into clamping system
• Install hardware (drawer guides, hinges, locks, etc.)
• Build all pieces with little to no mistakes and with high attention to detail and quality
• Effectively communicate issues or problems when they arise in order to solve issues efficiently
• Communicate actively with team members at all times
• Willingness to take direction from multiple team members
• Actively practice safe work practices and wear all proper PPE as needed
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• High attention to detail and willingness to fix errors when noticed
• Ability to read blueprints/shop drawings
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet at least 8 hours per day
• Speak fluent English
• At least 1 year of experience building cabinet boxes in an assembly line atmosphere
• Must have reliable transportation
Working conditions
Normal hours will be 5:30am-2:00pm M-F, with mandatory OT as needed. You will be working in a high-volume manufacturing plant. Relationship with coworkers will be important, as the job will require teamwork and lack of ego to ensure orders are shipped on time and accurately. Environment can be high stress sometimes in terms of deadlines, and teamwork is key to getting the jobs done.
Physical requirements
Employees will be lifting wood/similar panels on a regular basis. Knowledge of proper lifting techniques and ability to perform the work repeatedly are a must.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
