JOB PURPOSE: Serves as an Application Specialist in Mining Technology industry. Leverages mining technology application knowledge to increase safety and improve mining operations, process, change management, increase customer loyalty, and improve sales force effectiveness. This position supports new and ongoing MineStar Command for Hauling operations. Application Specialist manages the autonomous tucks fleet, supporting mining customers on achieving a safer and more productive operation. Also supplies recommendations back through the Product Development group to influence future product development. This position will influence market requirements, trends, and key areas for product improvement. The Application Specialist is assigned to a mine site and reports the operation and system performance to a Technology Site Manager assigned to the same operation.
Job Duties: Include the following functional areas:
Drive customer recognition of value of MineStar Command for Hauling Technology , product feature design, improved processes, and change management.
• Supports customers on the Capacitation/Training strategy and organization
• Provides on going basic training of customer personnel in areas of expertise
• Provides technical expertise related to Caterpillar MineStar Technology products.
• Provide operational support to the Autonomous Trucks operation.
• Support customers by providing basic product application expertise
• Consults with site on basic features and processes are in place to support mining technology
• Benchmarks site performance using several metrics to ensure continuous improvement
• Recommends MineStar Best Practices
• Support customers through the change management process
NPI CONTRIBUTION
Increase product-positioning knowledge for Caterpillar
• Provides feedback to product feature/benefits
• Participate in Field Follows as needed
INCREASE / SHARE Technology INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE
Increase application expertise and transfer knowledge to others within Caterpillar.
• Identify and document job/application profiles based on field observation working with customers
• Serves as team members to establish best practices and knowledge share
INCREASE AWARENESS & PRESENCE OF CATERPILLAR in the Mining Technology INDUSTRY
Improve the industry's perception of Caterpillar.
• Serve as an application specialist to customers and dealers
Individuals in this position must understand and keep current in mining technology. They must have excellent problem solving and analysis ability to determine the correct direction to solve customer issues. They will consult recommend improvements to People, Process, and Technology. Incumbents will apply their knowledge of the product, technology, and industry to support Caterpillar, dealer, and customer goals.
Incumbents, along with their manager, will direct their development and continual learning through experience and staying abreast of technology changes. Key learning comes from continued experience at customer sites. They will provide excellent communication and build solid relationships with the customer, dealer, and Caterpillar.
Incumbents must stay abreast of industry and technology changes and relate those changes to Caterpillar, dealer and customer needs.

Basic Qualifications:
• University Degree: Mining Engineering (desired) or similar
• Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge (Powerpoint, Word, Excel, etc)
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
• Knowledge in data analytics and experience in data base reporting (ex. SQL, SAP BO, PowerBI)
• Working background in Mine Operation Dispatcher, Mining Planning , or Fleet Management
• Driver License
• Knowledge of mining technology products and product applications, including Fleet Management systems.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience within Mining Industry or Mining Technology (Systems and Practices)
• English Advanced
*This position offers a temporary one-year term contract.
