Job Description:
This is an opportunity to join the IERUS team as a Missile Qualification Systems Engineer.
The job of an IERUS Qualification Systems Engineer is to ensure Verification and Qualification of the engineering designs & analysis that support missile development, integration, and flight test execution activities and their associated milestone reviews.
Responsibilities:
- Support the program through reviews and critical milestones to include PDR, CDR, TRR, MRR, and others.
- Apply IERUSβs technical processes, resources, and methodologies to ensure technical and programmatic reviews for the program are successfully executed.
- Lead the decomposition of Top-Level requirements/Prime Item spec into verifiable all-up round/subassembly/component level verifications.
- Determine the appropriate level of test & analysis required to prove compliance at the appropriate levels, and then develop the plan to aggregate this lower-level compliance/validation into AUR compliance.
- Coordinate with the interdisciplinary sub-system design teams to identify current verification gaps; and identify the hardware, analysis, and test criteria needed to fill these gaps.
- Enable development test plans and technology readiness plans to ensure compliance ahead of PDR, CDR, and Qualification Readiness Review.
- Assist with test planning and appropriate sub-assembly levels related to SMC-S-016; and Navy environments certification.
- Own the development of the Verification Execution plan. Facilitate the Analysis Execution Plan, Test Execution Plan, and Hardware Utilization Matrix.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years in aerospace vehicle development and qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering, Physics, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
- Experience with engineering trade studies and/or relevant sub-system modeling
- Experience working across functions and different levels of leadership to accomplish tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to support coordination and cross-team collaboration.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Preferred experience with SMC-S-016 and MDA/Navy verification requirements.
- CAMEO/MBSE experience also preferred, but not required
- Familiar with component & system level test planning and execution (and an understanding of all the interdependencies).
- The ability to articulate sophisticated technical and programmatic issues to subordinates, peers, and customers.
Location: Huntsville, AL (50% travel to Chandler, AZ may be required for this position)
