Aerospace's Strategic and Global Awareness Directorate (Project West Wing) provides technical intelligence analysis and research for a broad range of national security space and intelligence community customers. Our team works to provide unique, timely, and independent assessments and counsel pertaining to current and future threats to the use of space as well as the effectiveness of strategic deterrents.
Actively contribute to an elite, high-performing team bringing technical skills to bear to characterize the fast-moving field of international space technologies and their implications to U.S. National Security Space. Participate in a wide range of technical activities, work with technical intelligence, analyze threats to space programs, and influence customer decisions on important National Security Space topics. The potential exists to develop your own areas of expertise and specialization in the analysis of space and missile systems.
This is a full-time position would be based in El Segundo, CA.

What You'll Be Doing
- Responsively assess the potential impact of current worldwide space and counter-space activities on U.S. national security space operations
- Lead and support detailed technical analyses of current and future space systems
- Support the identification of short- and long-term technical challenges for a diverse customer base, including the USAF, the Intelligence Community, and other government and commercial customers
- Prepare technical reports, briefings, and other deliverable materials as required
- Critically review reports, briefings, and other materials produced by team members
- Support and develop customer relationships and mentor junior government analysts
- Occasional travel required for presentations and meetings with Aerospace/PWW personnel and U.S. Government agencies throughout the country
- International travel to conferences or meetings is possible.
What You Need to Be Successful
Minimum Requirements
Missile Technologist
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution
- 8 years of proven experience in space systems engineering
- Strong interest and passion for understanding global space activities and operations
- Ability to analyze technical data, produce novel insights and conclusions, and optimally communicate the results
- Familiarity with space systems and operations
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills; requires the ability to work well with other analysts and communicate to senior military and civilian customers
- Active TS/SCI clearance
Sr. Missile Technologist
- 12 years of proven experience in space systems engineering
- Same requirements as above
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Advanced degree in Science, Physics, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Background in Missile Warning (MW), Missile Tracking (MT), Missile Defense (MD), Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) mission areas
- Experience and knowledge of missile systems and relevant disciplines (i.e. Ground Systems, Launch/Flight Systems)
- Understanding of space domain awareness, space system data analysis, space systems engineering or related fields
- Flexibility to learn new tools/capabilities as needed
- An affinity for challenging puzzles and problem solving is a plus
- Experience with fusing and analyzing information from multiple sources and extrapolating to answer questions
- Familiarity with evolving space technologies (e.g., AI/ML, Sensor phenomenologies)
- Prior experience and familiarity with DoD, Air Force and IC agencies and organizations
- Reading comprehension and translation skills in selected foreign languages is of interest
