Job Description

ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) requires a full-time team lead engineer to manage the Rocket Systems Launch Program Mission Assurance (RSLP MA) Independent Verification and Validation (IV V) team at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque NM. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the Project Engineering team leading the IV V efforts on RSLP MA missions, serving as the primary point of contact between the RSLP MA IV V team and the US Space Force (USSF), Space Systems Command (SSC), Assured Access to Space Small Launch and Targets Division Operations Manager (SSC/AAMXO).

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary POC between the RSLP MA IV V team and the SSC/AAMXO customer. The RSLP MA IV V team consists of Project Engineers who oversee the execution of various RSLP MA Task Orders (TOs). The SSC/AAMXO team consists of Mission Managers who are responsible for all contractors (including RSLP MA) supporting various RSLP missions.
• Serve as the personnel manager for the RSLP MA Project Engineers (PE's) and other Kirtland AFB office personnel as required. Set performance goals, perform annual reviews, provide ongoing performance feedback, approve timecards, travel requests, and expense reports.
• Assign PE's to RSLP MA Task Orders, to include backup PE's as required. Maintain an accurate IV V Team Organization Chart and ensure the AAMXO manager is cognizant of the RSLP MA IV V Team assignments.
• Align RSLP MA team resources to meet program objectives across Task Orders. Work to resolve schedule and resource challenges as they arise.
• Provide technical and programmatic input to Task Order proposals, including reviewing BOE's, ensuring pricing is properly executed, and approving the submittal of proposal packages to the Program Manager.
• Support the RSLP MA PM in identifying the aggregate IV V team budget and required head count.
• Provide input to the RSLP MA subcontract manager regarding applicable subcontract modifications for RSLP MA Task Orders.
• Support the RSLP MA Program Manager with programmatic briefings and other assignments as requested.
• Backup RSLP MA mission PEs and temporarily lead missions as required, generally on a temporary basis.

Requirements

Requirements:

• Must have strong communication and presentation skills and demonstrated ability to work with contractor and government counterparts.
• Demonstrated high initiative, proactive, low-maintenance, self-starter required.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a matrix organization is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) to perform technical writing, editing, and document formatting.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in an engineering science.
• 10 years or more aerospace experience with launch program management experience required.
• Experience in the design or development of launch systems is highly desired.
• Program management and/or project management experience is required.
• Familiarity with RSLP MA IV V activities, and responsibilities of RSLP MA Project Engineers desired.
• Must have experience working with the DoD. Experience working with NASA or MDA is a plus.
• Active Secret Clearance is required; Top Secret is desired.
