Mission Assurance Manager I / Mission Assurance Manager II

You will be a key leader, partner, and essential member of the Mission Success team. As the Mission Assurance Manager, you will Lead the Program Assurance team and actively participate in program decision making, technical reviews, anomaly resolution, risk management and be responsible for establishing a culture of mission success.

What You'll Do:

• Establish, execute and disseminate Mission Assurance (MA) requirements and expertise across Ball Aerospace's Tactical Solutions (TS) Strategic Business Unit that applies radio-frequency (RF) and electro-optical (EO) technologies to the nation's defense needs in C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance), precision strike, air dominance, and electronic warfare.
• Establish MA requirements appropriate for tactical hardware/software solutions for government and prime contractor customers within the defense community, inclusive of multi-function apertures, phased antenna arrays, RF systems for space applications, and EO and infrared imaging and tracking systems.
• Be a visionary contributor to the program leadership team. Team with internal business partners to deliver hardware and missions that are meaningful to our customers, nation, and world.
• Lead and support anomaly and failure review board processes as required, coordinating Subject Matter Expertise.
• Own communication channels and interface with Program Customer Mission Assurance representatives.
• Spearhead execution of Mission Assurance requirements implementation, verification, and validation.
• Own the implementation of standard company processes for assigned program(s) by development and execution of program unique Mission Assurance Plan(s), through each of the assigned functional disciplines.
• Participate and lead technical discussions regarding quality assurance and specialty engineering design aligned to mission risk objectives and goals.
• Balance regarding technical risks against cost and schedule constraints; defend them when needed.
• Build out a budgetary and scheduled plan for Mission Assurance tasks and activities for the course of a program lifecycle. Investigate and disseminate reporting of project metrics to develop a continuous feedback loop of improvement. Champion and envision process improvement for current and future programs.
• Align and organize the Mission Assurance Integrated Product Team (EEE Parts Engineering, Reliability, Radiation Effects, Hardware and Software Quality, Materials and Processes Engineering, Contamination Control and Systems Safety).
• Be adaptable; have the ability to navigate between strategic thought and tactical implementation in technical and programmatic settings with various stakeholders.
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

What You'll Need:

• Mission Assurance Manager I - BS/BA in related field plus 8 years or more related experience.
• Mission Assurance Manager II - BS/BA in related field plus 10 years or more related experience.
• Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
• Degree in Engineering preferred.
• A current, active Secret security clearance is required.
• Leadership skills to Inspire and Connect with team members, customers and subject matter experts to provide program Mission Assurance leadership and Achieve Mission Success preferred.
• Interpersonal skills to foster advisor relationships with Program Management, other program team leads, and on-site customers as required preferred.
• Presentation skills to formally present information and communicate effectively with Program Management, Executive Leadership and Customers preferred.
• Experience with scheduling, budgeting, and milestone monitoring as well as reviewing technical reports to assure technical and contractual compliance preferred.
• In addition, for the Mission Assurance Manager II, technical background to engage the MA team for in design, production/test readiness, and other reviews and audits with the ability to make risk-informed decisions preferred.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel a​nd local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

• Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or clean room, outdoors or remote research environment.
• May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
• May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

Verification that your current security clearance or government customer access meets the requirement for this position will be required.

Compensation & Benefits:

• HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR MISSION ASSURANCE MANAGER I: $124,500 - $172,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
• HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR MISSION ASSURANCE MANAGER II: $139,500 - $193,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
