Job Description

Support the mission of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Office (DES) to test the Missile Defense System (MDS) in a distributed Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environment, including Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI) activities, MDS Ground Test (GT) events and MDS Flight Test support.

• Act as a liaison between the simulation software developers, integrators, data analysts, and test planners, conductors, and other stakeholders to include MDS element POCs.
• Provide strategic planning support for risk reduction and SW development activities.
• Coordinate scheduling of test resources (facilities, personnel, etc.)
• Collect and consolidate truth stimulation framework (FW) capability requirements needed by MDS stakeholders.
• Coordinate with simulation SW developers for the translation of these needed capabilities into Objective Simulation Framework (OSF) implementation strategies, development schedules, and test plans.
• Identify M&S engineering criteria needed to burn down simulation risk between the FW and element M&S.

Job Requirements

Duties include:

• Participate in MDA planning and coordination meetings.
  • Capturing changes to test schedules and testing needs and requests for new or enhanced OSF capabilities.
  • Inform MDA test event planners of OSF capabilities and limitations, development activities, and delivery schedules; test case delivery schedules; HWIL test readiness; and status of HWIL test execution.
• Review test plans to identify needs for new framework capabilities, test event schedules, and HWIL ability to support.
• Coordinate OSF capabilities between DES M&S System Integration (DES-I) and M&S Production (DES-P) functional areas.
• Maintain DES-I and DES-P management awareness of planning activities and issues related to the DES mission. Provide meeting summaries, reports on key activities and issues, and after action reports. Participate in staff meetings.
• This position may have a 10-20% travel requirement.
• This position may require 10% night/weekend work.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will enjoy working in a technically challenging environment with software developers; integrators; data analysts; and event planners, testers, and other stakeholders.

Candidate must be a:

• Self-starter capable of working with minimal direction
• Team player with the ability to work with DOD contractors, stakeholder, and Government contacts

Desired qualifications include:

• A good understanding of overall MDS infrastructure and Element capabilities
• Experience leading integrated system test events
• Familiarity with real-time distributed simulation infrastructures; MDS Element configurations and operations; and DOD Operational Testing (OT) and Development Testing (DT)

Minimum of 8 -10 yrs. + (BS) in Math, Engineering, Computer Science or similar discipline OR equivalent years of experience
