What you will be doing in the role of a Mission Partnerships Manager

The Manager is a key member of the Mission Partnership team, who will employ strong project management skills to steward Mission's role in the fundraising process; lead the development and management of assets for fundraising purposes; report on current needs, trends and revenue items related to Mission fundraising; and participate in the development and delivery of reports, presentations, and other assets to support donor stewardship.

What you will bring to the table

  • Support through project management the Mission aspects of new and ongoing revenue opportunities and relationships, creating production schedules for key projects, ensuring timelines are met.
  • Work closely with assigned development teams to support successful fundraising for Komen's research, community health, and public policy programs.
  • Ensure there is an accurate list of all development projects in process and keep up to date with Asana projects.
  • Track and manage proposals and fundraising opportunities submitted by the Development team through Asana to ensure deadlines are met by the Mission team.
  • Ensure development has all needed information and requirements related to proposal development for Mission programs.
  • Partner with Mission Operations team in development of proposal budgets.
  • Review development benefits in proposals, presentations, etc. and ensuring mission can comply.
  • Align records of successful proposals to entries in Salesforce to ensure accuracy of mission records.
  • Work directly with the development team to manage and optimize development processes to increase funding revenue and support thriving donor relationships.
  • Periodically review the approval process and SOPs, identify areas for improvement, and deploy those improvements to the teams.
  • Attending routine and ad hoc development team meetings to discuss proposals and projects, identify and resolve process roadblocks.
  • Research partners and funding opportunities as needed.
  • Lead the development of materials to support fundraising purposes.
  • Develop an annual catalog of Mission Programs available for fundraising and appropriate supporting documents.
  • Compile and create a library of Mission assets to support fundraising, development, and other Mission needs including proposals, slide decks, overview documents.
  • Attend meetings and present resources and materials to the development teams to aid in training. Serve as a partner to understand key needs and opportunities.
  • Support internal and external communications related to fundraising.
  • Assist with speaker requests to support fundraising events and participate as needed.
  • Serve as the development team's partner during conferences to schedule meetings, ensure needed Mission materials and presenters are prepared.
  • Schedule meetings, write minutes and ensure Mission leadership is updated on project progress.
  • Build and present partner reports, presentations, talking points, annual impact reports, and other donor stewardship assets, etc. as needed for specific asks.
  • Support meetings such as the Partner Town Hall.
  • Promoting an organizational culture that values trust, commitment to the mission, scientific integrity, and professional and organizational growth.
  • All other duties as assigned.

We already know you will also have

  • Minimum of BA/BS and 2-5 years of related experience
  • Experience in nonprofit proposal writing, fundraising or development support.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills required to manage a large, complex workflow with multiple deadlines, data points, and priorities.
  • Highly developed administrative skills and financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated success coordinating information and data across multiple team members and through cross departmental interactions.
  • Exceptional writing and speaking skills required.
  • Shows positive approach to work, flexibility, cultural awareness, sensitivity to relationships, security, and confidentiality.
  • Must have excellent and instinctive service and customer relationship skills.

Preferred experience

  • Specific experience with foundations and major gifts.
  • Specific experience with corporate development.
  • While supporting fundraising is a key aspect of this role, no direct fundraising goals are in place for this position.
