The MMS ISC Integration Program Manager has accountability for the success of ISC integration projects & initiatives resulting from M&A and/or ISC manufacturing network strategy within the MMS global business unit. This individual will be responsible for partnering with cross-functional Integration leaders, members, and MMS business leaders to develop and execute integration plans that deliver value to the business. This high visibility role is responsible for multiple cross-functional streams of work, program-level risk mitigation to ensure successful execution, always with a focus on delivering value to the business.

This is a critical role within the BD MMS ISC, with direct visibility at the leadership level and has a major impact on the successful completion of a strategically important program.

We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, process oriented and self-driven individual with a proven track record of sustained success in the execution of complex cross-functional programs, adoption of best practices and visual methods in program management, and the completion of mission critical integration projects & initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a cross-functional ISC integration team for key strategic projects & initiatives
  • Responsible for the development, administration, coordination and execution of ISC integration strategy and implementation plans to achieve strategic and financial objectives and deliver expected value to the business
  • Work with the cross-functional integration team leaders and members, MMS ISC leadership team and platform leaders to develop and execute the Integration & ISC Strategy. Proactively communicates across these organizations while taking a leadership role in executing the strategy.
  • Sets direction, resolves problems, provides guidance to various team members
  • Ensures key program milestones are met and dependencies managed. Facilitates and leads cross functional integration meetings, ensuring all activities are on track.
  • Responsible for building and managing the integration budget and identifying, tracking and capturing synergies
  • Ability to quickly prioritize, focusing the program on the most critical tasks and aligning stakeholders with the key objectives. Recognize and mitigate risks early and reduce bottlenecks that hold up progress
  • Represent ISC function as part of the Integrated Management Office (IMO)
  • Acts globally working across manufacturing sites and regions as required per the Integration & Manufacturing strategies
  • Ability to communicate effectively, with strong interpersonal skills. Clearly communicate goals and objectives to all stakeholders across various levels in the organization
  • Understand the priorities, operating needs and responsibilities of the different work streams, and be able to anticipate, plan and solve for cross-functional interdependencies.
  • Consistently review the integration plans and confirm they still support deal model assumptions and goals of the organization.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of business, market growth drivers and trends, influences business case development.
  • Complete understanding of a wide application of project management principles, theories, and concepts. Including but not limited, customer scope requirements, work breakdown structures, risk management, integrated business plans, and product requirements.
  • Define program resource needs and negotiate program resourcing plans. Work with functional leaders to ensure the appropriate core team resources are committed to the program and contribute to required performance levels. Establish, delegate, and evaluate the roles, responsibilities, goals, deliverables and performance of core and extended team members.
  • Ensure governance mechanisms, such as core team meetings, key technical design and commercial excellence and industrialization reviews are undertaken in a timely, comprehensive, and effective manner. Develop a mentality of collaboration, execution, and continuous improvement within the program through these mechanisms.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Industrial Engineering or equivalent required, with MBA desirable
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing management with at least 3-5 years plant experience. Experience in manufacturing in the medical device field desirable.
  • Strategic grasp of manufacturing best practices, state of the art manufacturing technology within area of specialty, and where to deploy such.
  • Strong technical expertise in project management and operations management along with a working knowledge of Lean & Six Sigma.
  • International experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work and influence decision makers across multiple sites/regions/levels of manufacturing sophistication.

Education and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a technical field and a minimum of 5-8 years relevant experience
  • Served as a project lead for a minimum of 3-5 years in the delivery of a complex systems and solutions
  • Cross-functional leadership experience in a matrix organization.
  • Financial budgeting and planning experience preferred.
  • Experience in business or technical or science related field

Travel

  • This position will require travel within the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Majority of travel expected to be to Research Triangle Park, NC.
