Mobile Game Designer

PerBlue is looking for our next great Mobile Game Designer to join our team of experienced mobile game creators. We’re a growing independent studio whose free-to-play midcore mobile games are being played by millions of people around the world, including the award-winning Disney Heroes: Battle Mode. 

Our team brings together experience from major studios in the videogame and technology industries. Headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, we also work remotely around the United States and Canada for an unmatched quality of life and work.

In this junior to midrange level role, you’ll work with other game designers to learn how to create great experiences for our game players around the world. This position will work with Web3 mobile games along with a variety of genres, economies, and styles. 

Principal Responsibilities

• Create detailed specifications for new features, scalable game systems, and in-game rewards.
• Develop comprehensive wireframes and userflows that depict game features visually and describe interactions between their elements.
• Ensure that games mechanics, systems and economies meet product goals around engagement, retention, and monetization.
• Closely monitor, analyze, and respond to gameplay data and user feedback on your designs through their entire lifecycle, from development to testing to live in game.
• Lead playtesting at scale and fast iteration on games in development

Your experience

• 0-2 years as a game designer in a commercially successful free-to-play game studio
• Documented strength in designing systems that monetize at scale for free-to-play games
• Experience in creating mockups and prototypes hands-on in-engine (Unity preferred)

• Naturally curious about our fans and which systems create greater engagement
• Interested in the math and data behind successful systems design
• Inquisitive about the role Web3 technologies will play in the future of games
• Self motivated, with a strong desire to learn new things
• Humble and curious, able to iterate quickly based on feedback from a game’s fan base

The base salary range for this full-time position is $50,000-$70,999 + bonus. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position across all locations nationwide.
