Model and Simulation Engineer
Job Description
Torch Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is currently seeking to hire a candidate to conduct force-on-force Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) in support of Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) analyses. Analytic results will inform critical programmatic decisions to multiple DoD-level organizations through the application of MS&A tools and processes. The candidate will work onsite with the customer within the US Army Space and Missile Defense Center of Excellence (SMD CoE) and become a valued employee-owner in our dynamic and employee-centric culture.
Specific tasks to support impactful MS&A efforts include study planning, scenario development, IAMD system modeling, scenario testing, output data analysis, and results report development. DoD Operations Research/Systems Analysis (ORSA) or operational IAMD background is preferred but not required. Specific M&S tools operated may include: EADSIM, AFSIM, TGx, HELCOMES, and C2BMC planner. Expertise with one or more of these tools is strongly desired, however relevant experience with similar M&S tools will be considered such as: MATLAB, WILMA, STK, STORM, SEAS, HELEEOS, or GIANT.
Job Requirements
Candidate should have a minimum of 10years' relevant experience and a Bachelors' degree, preferably in a technical field; additional experience may be considered in lieu of specific degree.
Must have or be able to obtain a Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
The desired candidate will have experience in the following:
• Strong analytic and communication skills
• Strong ability to work independently and perform as part of a team both locally and remotely
• Strong experience in using Air and Missile Defense MS&A tools
• Strong experience in IAMD system knowledge (e.g., Aegis, THAAD, Patriot, IFPC, M-SHORAD, directed energy, air platforms, air/ground sensors)
• Some experience in modeling space force enhancements areas (i.e., Missile warning, ISR, PNT, SATCOM)
• Some experience in modeling cyber effects
• Some experience in Multi Domain Operations (MDO) experience as related to IAMD
• Understanding of IAMD defense design/operational planning
• Understanding of doctrine, employment, and TTPs of IAMD operations
• Some experience in scripting/programing tools
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel or other statistical S/W tools
